Panhandle Station
The University of Nebraska Panhandle Research and Extension Center (the local center is known as Panhandle Station) is an invaluable resource for the panhandle, and not just for farm folk.  There are actually four such centers in the state, and extension offices in every county, that offer research-based information in family, agriculture, lawn and garden, community, nutrition/health/safety, 4-H/youth programs, and natural resources to all Nebraskans.  Among the many services they provide are web publications on dry edible beans as well as hundreds of other topics.  Just type the subject that interests you in the "search" box.

Panhandle Research & Extension Center Celebrates 100 Years!
Panhandle Station will celebrate it's 100th Anniversary with an Open House on July 24th, 2010 from 7:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.  This is sure to be an interesting and entertaining day that will include a pancake breakfast, trailer tours and "Tent Topics on the Lawn", a barbequed beef lunch, and a watermelon feed.

The Experts
The Nebraska Dry Bean Growers Association works closely with many of the Panhandle Station specialists; we are proud to be associated with them and grateful for their knowledge, expertise, and support.
